You see, there's a war on, friend!

This page from Jack Kirby's "The Forever People" #5 (1971) is my favorite page from a comic in a long time. (By the way, his name is Sonny Sumo, and he's in possession of the Anti-Life Equation.)

Wings vs King Kirby

Jack Kirby chills with Paul and Linda backstage - and gives them the drawing seen here as a gift...

Check out these and all the other hip and with-it pictures here: http://beatlephoto.blogspot.com/2009/04/magneto.html

Kamandi - A Bit Musty But Good Enough for Me (I Suppose)

So, well, the good news is that I found an issue of Kirby's Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth for a buck-fifty. The bad news is that when I got it home and started reading it, I realized it smelled moldy and even had a few suspect black spots on the first few pages. You win some you lose some etc. I guess I'll bag and board it but I might have to toss it. I also got a big pile of Animal Man comics that aren't moldy. That's pretty good, I guess. No, it is. It is good. Some of them have great Brian Bolland covers and some are written by Grant Morrison and some are drawn by Steve Dillon. Here's an image from said issue of Kamandi.

Jack Kirby's Long Lost "Prisoner" Comic

Apparently none other than Jack Kirby worked for a bit on a Prisoner comic based (loosely? closely?) on the TV show. Sadly it never saw publication. Here's a page.
