A video blog to keep track of the videos that we want to make sure to show each other next time we get drunk and look at youtube videos all night. Plus we have on November 26th, 2008 a picture of a clown and a Bruce Haack tune. Brand New! Live! Expletive! 1940s! Theme Song! The News sans Huey Lewis! The Power of Love!

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (Licorice)
This sounds a lot like when Sam's Choice played this song at Ralph's after (partially) memorizing the lyrics the same day of the show. And Mountain Lightning was playing his first guitar, which had no capacity for staying in tune, which didn't matter since he couldn't tell if something was in tune or not back then.

Spring Break!
This week is my second Spring Break in a row. Last week was Mankato's, now this week is the U's. Last week I had a ton of work to do and I had to go into school every day, though, and this week I just have to work my two days in Mankato. Plus it's warm out. So it feels like Spring Break, and this lady feels it too.

Frank Quitely (and Grant Morrison) to do "Batman and Robin"
from CBR:
"The DC Nation page that concludes this week’s new DC Comics releases confirms long-standing rumors that Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely – the award-winning and best-selling creative team of “All Star Superman” – are in development on a new Batman series called “Batman & Robin.”
Accompanying the Frank Quitely images is a message from DC Executive Editor Dan DiDio that reads, “We interrupt this week’s DC Nation page to showcase some very special art for a very special new comic series….”
“Batman & Robin” is expected to debut in June."
Sounds great to me - hope it's true and actually occurs. How 'bout them teasers?
Superman: World of New Krypton Trailer
I thought I'd post this in case y'all are interested. DC started this over-arching Superman story a few months ago, but the actual first issue of the 12 issue "World of New Krypton" series came out last week. For the next year, this World of New Krypton series, Action Comics, Superman, and Supergirl will all be following this storyline. The gist of the story is that a bunch of Kryptonians show up on Earth, cause havok, and are banned from the planet. They all then go off to a new planet, "New Krypton" and set up shop with none other than General Zod as their militaristic leader. Superman goes off to New Krypton to keep an eye on Zod and will be absent from Earth for the next year. [...hope I got that more or less correct...]
I don't read a ton of Superman, but I will be buying the main "World of..." series. Last week's issue#1 was really good and sets up what looks to be an interesting tale.

Lego Philosopher
This is the guy who I'm TA'ing for this semester. The St Paul Pioneer Press just did a story on him building Lego models of the Capitol Building and the St Paul Cathedral.

Final Crisis Hardcover Collection
including the two issues of Superman Beyond 3D which are critical to the story. The original hardcover solicitation didn't include these issues. Kudos for DC for adding them. It will also include the issue Final Crisis: Submit, which was a Morrison one-shot issue. The collection will retail for $29.99, but I bet you can get it from Amazon for 20-ish dollars if you would be so inclined. If you are interested, I think it hits stores in early June.
Update: I checked Amazon and it is available for pre-order at the price of $19.79. The release date is June 16th. There will be 352 pages. Now you have more knowledge.
